Musa Reems
Malik Muhammad also known as, Musa Reems, is a lyrically inclined emcee hailing from the west side of the Windy City. Fusing influences from multiple artistic genres, he is considered one of the most prolific and versatile artists to represent Chicago. He sites his influences as MF DOOM, The Wu-Tang Clan, Black Thought and Sean Price. Musa is also 1 / 2 of the neo – soul / hip hop duo, theinjuredparty. Reems is currently signed to AEMMP Records based in Chicago.
Musa was born and raised in the Austin neighborhood, on the west side of Chicago and “Woodside, IL”. The gritty and fast-paced environment influenced Musa greatly, not only artistically, but as a complete person. He began writing and making music at the age of 15 with the Chicago rap collective, Children of I.L.L.I.O.S. He has been featured on ELEVATOR Magazine, Hip Hop DX, Lyrical Lemonade, Dead End Hip Hop, 2DOPEBOYZ, EARMILK, Fake Shore Drive, Grass Routes Music Playlist Vol. 10, The Columbia Chronicle, and many more outlets.
